Why Meridian

Care that treats the cause, not just the symptom

Most clinics hand you a sheet of exercises and hope for the best. We do it differently: a thorough first assessment, a diagnosis you actually understand, and a plan that adapts as you progress — so you get better and stay better.

  • Longer appointments. A full hour on your first visit — no rushing.
  • Evidence-led. Treatment grounded in current research.
  • On-site gym. Rehab space to load and test properly.
  • Direct access. No GP referral needed to get started.

How it works

A clear path from first visit to full strength

No mystery, no open-ended plans. Three deliberate phases keep your recovery moving and measurable.

  1. 01

    Assess

A full hour to understand your history, test your movement and pinpoint exactly what's driving your symptoms.

  2. 02

    Treat & rebuild

Hands-on therapy paired with a progressive exercise plan you can actually stick to, adjusted at every visit.

  3. 03

    Sustain

Return-to-activity testing and a maintenance strategy so the problem stays solved — not just paused.

Real words from real people — names shortened for privacy, as they'd appear on our review pages.

"Eighteen months of knee pain and two other clinics got me nowhere. Meridian found the real problem in one session. Twelve weeks later I ran my first half-marathon."

No — physiotherapy is a direct-access profession, so you can book with us straight away. If you're claiming on private insurance, some policies do ask for a GP referral first, so it's worth a quick check with your provider.

Comfortable, loose clothing you can move in — think shorts and a t-shirt. It helps your therapist see and assess the area properly. We also have private changing space and gowns if you'd prefer.

It depends entirely on your condition and goals. Many minor issues settle in two to four sessions; complex or post-surgical cases take longer. You'll get an honest estimate after your first assessment — and we'll never book you in for more than you need.

Yes. We're recognised by all major UK insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality and Aviva, and can bill many of them directly. Just bring your policy and authorisation number to your first visit.

Life happens — just give us at least 24 hours' notice and there's no charge. Cancellations inside 24 hours or missed appointments are charged at the full session rate.
